Cooking for Joy and Harmony While Sheltering in Place

Due to suddenly having the time and space, there has been a dramatic upturn in people cooking from scratch and stretching their creative wings when it comes to experimenting with food. A fun and dynamic way to expand on this theme and “play with your food” is to explore cooking mainly for the energetic dynamic.  

Food is an extremely effective medium for holding matter at specific vibratory rates. Eating foods with certain vibrations helps create specific states of being and is a simple way to influence the subtle aspects of self and, in the case of the following recipe, the mind and emotions.

Even the best of us, when faced with monotony, can start to feel on the dreary side and this in turn has the potential to bleed out and impact those you care for the most. The following recipe is designed to promote being content, disperse heavy feelings, encourage one to play nice with others, and amplify zest for life.  

Chilled Cucumber and Avocado Soup

Ingredients
1 English cucumber – diced
1 ripe large avocado
2 green onions
½ cup full fat plain yogurt
½ cup buttermilk
1 teaspoon salt
½ teaspoon pepper
A dash or two of cayenne pepper
A pinch of ground coriander and cubeb

Directions
Dice the cucumber and avocado, slice all of the white part of the green onions and 1/2 of the green leaves, place in blender. (Reserve the rest of the greens for a garnish.) Add the yogurt, buttermilk, and spices to blender and blend until smooth. Adjust seasoning to taste and chill before serving.

Offer thinly sliced radishes, the reserved sliced green onion stalks mixed with chopped herbs of choice, and feta cheese, to sprinkle on top of soup.

Harmonizes the body and mind by dissolving emotional tension and the negative influences that cause one to turn inward and harden against love offered. Provides shelter when feeling overwhelmed with emotion.

Cubeb
Helps heal "hot" issues such as being angry, quarrelsome, and confrontational.

Coriander
Brings a sparkling effervescence to your emotional body and demeanor.

Eating this soup helps ease difficult emotional states, harmonizes the body and mind by dissolving tension, and offers shelter when feeling overwhelmed with emotion or life events.  It allows one to return to a joyful playful state, feel contentment, and deeply engage with others in a meaningful way.
